Artist-In-Residence / Naturalist-In-Residence

Since 2007, I have worked with nearly 2000 kids from kindergarten through 9th grade. Depending on the age of students and needs of the teacher, I combine nature study with creative writing.

Naturalist In Residence - sponsored by the Audubon Society of Greater Denver

Nature study is the focal point for developing writing skills. Students gain an appreciation for the natural world around them, and their place in it. They work on expressing themselves in writing about what they see and how they feel about it.

Artist In Residence - sponsored by Think360 Arts
Workshops of varying lengths (one hour to multi-day); one, two and three week residencies
Programs are tailored to the needs and time frame of the teacher. Nature study is the focal point for developing writing skills, or the residency can focus entirely on creative writing.
Examples:
Writing your Personal Story Using Nature as Inspiration
Discovering Self through the Poetry of Nature & Place
Creating a Sense of Place in Your Writing
Young Writers' Workshop – Improving Writing through Sharing with an Audience
